Welcome to Simply J.Leigh
Hey there! I’m Jennifer Leigh — a wife and mama to three precious boys. Becoming a mom completely changed my life for the better, and my boys are my daily reminder to keep growing, loving, and working hard toward the life God has called me to live.
I’m originally from Houston, Texas, but at just 16 years old, I packed up and moved to Nashville to start college at Belmont University (yes — I was that ambitious teenager 🤓). I earned my Bachelor’s in Business Administration, and later, my Master’s in Human Resources from Lipscomb University. I spent eight incredible years in Nashville before taking a leap of faith and moving to the DMV area. Now I live in Northern Virginia, where I’ve built a beautiful life with my little family.
Career-wise, I’ve worked in Human Resources, specializing in Global Learning & Leadership Development. I’ve been both a corporate mom and a stay-at-home mom — and while I’m proud of all I’ve accomplished, I’ve always felt God tugging at my heart, reminding me there’s more He’s calling me to do.
One thing that’s always been a constant in my life is writing. I’ve been writing since I was seven — poetry, songs, short stories, journaling — you name it. Writing has always been my way to release, reflect, and reconnect with myself (and with God). Starting a blog had been on my to-do list for years, and one day God said, “It’s time.”
So here we are.
This space is me — in the rawest, most honest way. I’ll be sharing my heart on motherhood, marriage, faith, and the journey God has me on. I hope that through my stories, someone out there feels seen, encouraged, and reminded that we’re all beautifully imperfect and wonderfully made.
Most of all, I want this to be an outlet where I can show up authentically — simply as Jennifer.
